A photogram is a photographic image, which is produced without the use of the camera.  The image is created by placing an object between a light source and the light sensitive paper.

This body of artwork came about because I hurt my back for the first time in my life, so I wanted to understand how it happened. The best way I thought I could understand this was to look at the bones of the human body as my starting point.

Using the human body (bones) as the framework around which I started creating these characters, stories and narratives around these bone people. Stemming from betrayal, lust, madness and the consequences that can happen from these things. This mostly came about because I felt I needed to make these photo paintings more interesting for myself.

One of the aims of this work is to hopefully make people feel disturbed and uncomfortable due to the fact that these things are black and white much the same as the way we associate death. I also hope that the work will give people the impression of x-rays, things from archaeological digs, fossils and possibly death.
