Anton Bolkunov “Moscow – Petushki”, an exhibition of illustrations to the works of Venedikt Erofeyev
The works of Erofeyev are often percept as some kind of alcohol cocktail: “Moscow – Petushki”, is it where they drink vodka in a train?” But Erofeyev is deep, gentle and modest, full of irony, but delicate. Alcohol is on the surface, tender things are underneath. That’s the way he was, a “locked turnpike”. There’s no way one can understand his works with rational mind. Irrationality is what should be demanded to deeply penetrate into his creations. And that is a very interesting challenge for an artist, because art is an irrational way of perception. The way Anton Bolkunov, member of MACHINE Art Group, reveals the works of Venichka will be exposed in Tengri-Umai Gallery from February 20th to 28th, 2009.
